A Note About J.K. Rowling
CW: Discussions of transphobia, abuse, and sexual assault. Hi everyone, As I am sure many of you have now seen, J.K. Rowling has recently made some reprehensible comments about transgender people. This is not the first time she has said such hurtful things- her defence of transphobic women such as Maya Forstater and the 61 year old woman assaulted by Tara Wolf (while I don’t condone violence, it should be noted that Rowling deliberately neglected to mention that the 61 year old had repeatedly misgendered Wolf prior to the assault, and had used transphobic slurs against her), prove that she has always harboured problematic and transphobic views. This is the…

Son of Secrets Blog Tour
Hi everyone, First up, apologies once again for the absence. I had hoped to get back into blogging a lot earlier, but there’s been a lot of personal stuff going on regarding the Coronavirus and to be honest I’ve been feeling mostly just completely unmoored recently. I’ve been trying to write, but my brain has just felt so foggy and thoughts don’t seem to be coming well to me, so I decided to take a bit of a break to try and recharge and not push myself to do things that might impact negatively on my mental health. There’s been a lot going on in the world in the last…

A Boxer Kickstarter Campaign
Hey everyone, Here’s something I’ve never actually done before. A friend of mine recently wrote a graphic novel, and I found out the other day that there’s a kickstarter campaign to fund the awesome artists behind the novel. I’ve heard a little bit about the project before, but I was fortunate enough to get sent a few first pages of A Boxer and it looks amazing, so I wanted to share it with you all. A Boxer is a 100 page graphic novel that tells the story of Mike Shepherd, a British fighter trying to succeed in the hyper-masculine world of boxing, whilst struggling to manage his sexual identity. The book…

Girls of Storm and Shadow Book Blog Tour
Hey lovelies, Today is my stop on the Girls of Storm and Shadow book blog tour. It’s such an honour to be included on this one, especially because I loved this novel so much and Natasha Ngan is such a sweet person, so I’m very happy to be bringing my contribution to the table today to help promote the book. Usually, I would post a review for this book for my tour entry. However, since I already raved about this book back in August, I thought that instead I could do a spotlight section on the novel. From Goodreads: Lei and Wren have escaped their oppressive lives in the Hidden Palace, but soon…
