Call Down the Hawk (Dreamer #1)

Call Down the Hawk by Maggie Stiefvater

When is it released: November 5th

What is it about?: The dreamers walk among us . . . and so do the dreamed. Those who dream cannot stop dreaming – they can only try to control it. Those who are dreamed cannot have their own lives – they will sleep forever if their dreamers die.

And then there are those who are drawn to the dreamers. To use them. To trap them. To kill them before their dreams destroy us all.

Ronan Lynch is a dreamer. He can pull both curiosities and catastrophes out of his dreams and into his compromised reality.

Jordan Hennessy is a thief. The closer she comes to the dream object she is after, the more inextricably she becomes tied to it.

Carmen Farooq-Lane is a hunter. Her brother was a dreamer . . . and a killer. She has seen what dreaming can do to a person. And she has seen the damage that dreamers can do. But that is nothing compared to the destruction that is about to be unleashed. . . .

Why am  I waiting for it: Most of you who have spent some time around me or my blog know that The Raven Cycle is my favourite YA series ever. It just is. There’s so much bittersweet in it, so many beautiful lines and prose. The characters are amazing, and honestly I just hated leaving that world. I still re-read the series once a year. So I’ve known about this series happening for a while, and always thought it sounded cool. I am not a big fan of the cover art so far, and I am secretly hoping that might be a stand in or the US cover, and we’ll get a prettier UK one, but how can I not be excited about this? Okay, I’m a little nervous, if only because I am so in love with the original quartet and would hate for anything to destroy that in my eyes (a bit like a certain ‘8th Harry Potter book’ that will never be named) but I’m sure it will only add to the magic and heartbreak of the original series.

There is meant to be several chapters of it legally up online to read (approved by Maggie herself) if anyone likes that kind of thing.

Is anyone else eagerly anticipating this book? Let me know your thoughts and feelings in the comment section below ❤
