June 2021: My Boyfriend Picks My TBR
Hi everyone, It’s now a week into June, which means it is time to start talking about my June TBR! I’m a bit of a mood reader to be honest, so having a TBR is always a bit of a daunting task, so this month I decided to make a bit of a game of it, and made my boyfriend pick a bunch of books to add to my TBR. He’s not a YA reader, so he doesn’t really know much about the books on my shelves, and so he picked a lot of the books based purely off how they looked. I’m thinking this might be a good tactic…

July TBR: 2020
Since we’re now a few days into July, I thought I’d share my To Be Read list for this month. My apartment is slowly getting taken over by books. There’s no room on the shelves, and there are several teetering piles of novels in the bedroom, so I’ve had to put myself on a physical book buying ban until we (hopefully) move in September to (hopefully) somewhere with more space for shelves. I’m still getting monthly boxes from Illumicrate and Fairyloot, and I’ve still treated myself to the special edition Shades of Magic box, but I think, unless there are any other incredibly amazing special edition boxes coming out between…

Recommendations: YA Books by Black Authors
Hey everyone, Hope your Mondays are all going okay. Today, I wanted to take an opportunity to highlight some amazing YA books by Black authors. In light of what’s happening in America and around the world right now, I want to do my best to continue to educate myself on these issues, and to do better in making sure to support Black authors and creators going forwards. In the interests of full disclosure the list of books I’m posting today is going to be split into three parts– books that I’ve read that I’m recommending, books that are currently on my TBR and I will hopefully get to soon, and…

February Haul and Wrap Up
So this month was pretty uneventful in terms of my book buying. I only got a few copies of things, although I do have some E-ARCs on my kindle to get through soon. Problematically, my shelves are really starting to fill up, and I don’t have much room for more books. Books I Bought: Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon. This behemoth of a book was a purchase from Illumicrate, who were doing signed and personal copies. On the Come Up by Angie Thomas. I’m going to meet her today and I am SO EXCITED. Two Can Keep a Secret by Karen McManus. I just realised as I stared at my shelves…

February TBR
Hi everyone, Since we’re now a few days into February, I thought I would share my TBR list with you all. It’s a little bit ambitious, especially as I am also reading lots of YA for my PhD research this month [hello Grisha trilogy] but I’m still hoping to get through most of it 😀 Anyhow, here is the list of books I’m hoping to read this month: King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo. I’ve already started this one, but I was a bit delayed in picking it up after its release since I had deadlines. I’m really enjoying it, but for some reason I’m struggling to read big chunks of it…

July TBR
Hi everyone, Since we’re now a few days into July, I thought I’d share my To Be Read list for this month. I was hoping to keep it short and sweet this month, since there’s still a lot going on, but I’ve already started hauling this month [it turns out I will be much more financially stable come October than I anticipated, so I should be hauling more books more regularly now]. So obviously the TBR pile is growing like crazy 😀 Anyhow, here is the list of books I’m hoping to read this month: All These Beautiful Strangers by Elizabeth Klehfoth. I thought I’d clear the YALC books out the…

May TBR
Hi everyone, I know it’s already ten days into the new month, but I thought I’d share my very very ambitious May TBR with you all. As ever, I’m going to try and read these books in the order they’re listed, but it really depends on what new books I get this month, and my moods and stuff too. There’s lots of May releases this month and I’ve got quite a few ARCs on this list of books coming out really soon, so they’re my priority at the moment. So yeah, here’s the list of what reviews to expect this month 😀 A Court of Frost and Starlight by Sarah J…
